I cannot start today without first mentioning the great Martin Luther King, Jr.
It is obvious to anyone who reads this blog and has seen the diverse & beautiful array of people I’m blessed enough to call my family and friends – that my life would look very different than it does today if it weren’t for the work of Martin Luther King, Jr. I am forever indebted to him and to all of the people that were brave enough to stand up for what was right all those years ago.
I’ll leave you with my favorite Martin Luther King, Jr. quote – a quote that I try to live by every day:
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
I mentioned a bit about the day I photographed these two gorgeous people in another blog post and shared a little sneak peek of my favorites… and now I’m so excited to finally show you guys the whole thing!
After getting rained out in late November – I’m so happy that Mallory and Pat called me on a random December morning to let me know they were in the area for the holidays (they live in Texas at the moment) and ask if I’d want to do their session that very afternoon since it was so nice out (50+ degrees)! It all ended up falling into place perfectly! I’ve done a lot of engagement session in nature/parks this year- so when Mallory said they’d like to do something more urban I jumped at the chance! I’d been dying to shoot in this industrial corridor in Chicago and absolutely loved the resulting images! (It helps that these two are super laid back, adorable together, and so much fun to work with! I seriously love them.)
Mallory & Pat – I honestly cannot wait for your wedding this June so we can hang out again! 🙂
