Although I’ve been incredibly busy with sessions every weekend for I don’t even know how long now – these last couple of weekends I’ve been working on taking some time to myself every now and then to clear my head and relax so I don’t burn myself out halfway through busy season. This time comes in random little spurts here and there… where I allow myself to just zone out and focus on something other than my to-do list.
This weekend it came in the form of singing much too loudly to Adele while enjoying a glass of wine and making a real dinner for James and I on Friday night for a change (i.e. not pizza). Then after dinner James suggested we take a walk since it was so nice out. (This is rare… for those of you that don’t know James – he loves to go to the gym and work out, but he does not like walking. Weird, I know.) Anyway – I of course jumped on his suggestion and headed out for a walk with J right as night was approaching.
Then on Saturday, after an early morning family session out in the hot.hot.hot weather, I again allowed myself some “me time” when I took the afternoon off to go enjoy hanging out with the lovely Chicago ladies of A Practical Wedding for the latest book club meeting.
And since I can’t ever detach my camera from me – I of course took photos of all of the above!
Can’t you just tell it was a beautiful night? Then off I went to the APW book club the next day! (You can’t go wrong with good food, good company, and wine, can you?!)
All in all – it’s been a fabulous weekend so far! I hope you guys are enjoying your summer days and nights just as much! XOXO! 🙂
