I don’t know how it has worked out for almost every close friend of mine this year (other than Jeanna), but I just happened to be home this past weekend when my dear friends, Missy & Dave, welcomed their first little one into this world! The adorable, teeny tiny, Grace Laura! This is the first time I’ve ever been around and able to visit so soon after a baby was born that they were still in the hospital – so this was a new and beautiful experience for me! I was just so overwhelmed with emotion the entire time I was there. The joy in the room was so evident that you couldn’t help but be moved to tears!
Missy’s parents just happened to arrive at the exact same time I did with my friends Jeanna and Kim, so I snapped a few photos of them meeting baby Grace for the first time as well. This was a pretty impromptu newborn session – since they were still in the hospital and I just happened to be home… And although we didn’t have all the time in the world, or a big clear space at their home to photograph in – I really love something about these photos since they were SO SOON after Grace entered the world. The awe and excitement were so fresh, you couldn’t help but see it in everyone’s faces in these photos… and I love that.
These two had me totally choked up – holding their granddaughter!
I couldn’t help but snap one of Grace in all her hospital gear before we got her ready for the official photos! She’s so teeny! 😉
