You know how when you work a 9-5 you find yourself wishing for Friday? On Tuesday you always think… “How is it only Tuesday?!”
Well, I’ve found now that I work for myself – I find myself wishing the weekdays would sloooooow dooooown. Come Thursday I’m always… “How is it already Thursday?! Wasn’t it just Monday?! Nooo!!!” (Because… well… I could use some more days to catch up on work!) You see, I know all too well that when the weekend comes that means I’m not checking anything off the to-do list… I’m adding to it!
I started off early with that this week – shooting a baby session and a Beautiful session yesterday. And then this weekend we’re heading to Wisconsin again… adding more to the list with 2 more family sessions, and a Beautiful Party (that’s right – 4 girlfriends hanging out, getting made up, and photographed) – awesome!
However, I’m sure you noticed one thing noticeably missing from our weekend plans… no wedding! It has been a while since we had a Saturday off and we’re not taking it for granted! Tonight we’re heading back to my hometown to have birthday dinner with my mom, then going out to see opening night of the play my dad is directing, and then celebrating post-show with birthday cake and drinks! Then on Saturday we’re extending my mom’s birthday celebration and heading back to The Little Farmer (this time with James and my brother, Will, and we are totally going to ride a hay wagon to the pumpkin patch and pick pumpkins! Oh yes! It is happening!!), and then off we go to Milwaukee to watch the Brewers game that night!
Yesterday and Sunday may be full of sessions – but we’re soaking in all the family fun we can handle in between, and I’m pretty stoked! Especially because when we were in Wisconsin last weekend the fall colors were only about 20% changed… so I’m hoping by this weekend the colors will be nearly at their peak! You know that if that is the case that this girl is taking lots of beautiful fall photos!! I can’t wait!
I’m looking forward to the little change of pace this weekend with extended amounts of family time, different types of sessions, and lots of refreshing time out enjoying all fall has to offer – which always does good things for the soul! I hope you all have fabulous weekends and I’m sure I’ll have lots more photos to share come Monday!
Until then – I’d like to wish my mom the HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS!!! I love you so much, and I’m so excited that it worked out for us to spend some extra time with you on your birthday this year! We can’t wait!!! Cheers to another wonderful year! xoxo! 🙂
