I’ve been antsy to show you this beautiful DIY wedding for a while now, so I’m excited I finally can!! Anna and Ben are some of THE SWEETEST people I’ve ever met, and just have such good, good souls. Anna found me through A Practical Wedding, so it is only expected that these two are down-to-earth, and awesome… of course.
Anna and Ben were married in Ascension Chapel at Augustana College on a very chilly October day. (Apparently they have a thing for chilly days, because their engagement session in Chicago last year was one of the coldest day of the year!) Every detail of the day was thought out by these two and many had a personal meaning to them… from the suit & hat Anna’s dad wore (his father’s), to the watch he carried (his grandfather’s), to the tulip bulbs they gave as favors, to the invitations hand-painted by Anna herself… Each piece of the day came together perfectly and meant something to these two and their intimate group of family/friends gathered to celebrate with them. The day was full of laughter and lots of happy tears (me included), and was just so beautiful to witness.
Anna + Ben ~ Thank you so much for allowing us to spend your gorgeous wedding day with you! And thank you for braving the chilly temps for photos out in the gorgeous fall colors around campus! James and I had such an amazing time with your awesome families and hope these pictures do your wedding day justice! And we definitely must meet for drinks now that you two are in the city!! 🙂 Yes?! xoxo!
I’m obsessed with these invitations in both versions! Can you believe Anna painted these herself?!
This sweet moment between Anna and her little sister made me totally lose it early on in the day…
Reason #496 why I LOVE First Looks…
James took the photo on the right, while I took the photo on the left…
Ah! Those colors!
It. Was. Cold… so we had the ladies put on their coats for a bit. I think it’s super cute! Love this photo!
More DIY goodness for dessert! Those cookies! Yum!
So much fun!!! Love these two! Congratulations again you guys!
