I don’t even know where to start with these two!! I felt Alecia’s warm nature from the moment she first emailed me last November! Over the past year we’ve exchanged almost 100 emails with each other (how is that even possible?!) and I’m so happy that this wonderful couple now feels like good friends instead of clients!! Alecia and Derrick are truly some of the sweetest human beings on the planet (and that’s not just because Derrick changed my flat tire in the sweltering heat at 9pm after their engagement session)!! They both really just have such a warmth and loving nature about them (especially when they’re together) and it is impossible not to feel good around them too!!
They were thrown quite the day weather-wise on their wedding and truly could not have been better sports about it. We had to change some plans for portraits and rather than stress or freak out – they really just rolled with the punches and managed to enjoy every windy/rainy/foggy/freezing cold moment with their friends and family regardless!!! And I’m so glad they did because I dare say the photos that resulted were totally worth it!! (I have to shout out to Alison at Designed & Detailed too for doing such an amazing job coordinating and keeping everything rolling with all the changes too!) And once you see the photos below – it goes without saying that these two are as beautiful on the outside as they are wonderful people on the inside! My gosh – Alecia was just STUNNING in her gown and Derrick was glowing alongside her all day! Not a detail was missed and Cathedral Hall at the University Club made the perfect warm and romantic backdrop on that chilly and rainy November day!!
