Clare & Andrew’s relaxed and laid back nature came through in their first email to me almost immediately. It was apparent these two were getting married for the right reasons and upon meeting them together for the first time at their engagement session it was incredibly obvious how perfect they were for each other. I hardly had to direct them at all because they were just naturally so sweet together and so at ease. The way Andrew looks at Clare is the most beautiful thing to see and I definitely am not the only one to notice – since many of Clare’s bridesmaids mentioned the same thing to me on their wedding day!! He makes her feel loved and appreciated every minute of every day and it is seriously the best thing to see. Knowing all of this about these two before even going to their wedding naturally made me even more excited for their big day!! So imagine my joy when I realized their friends and family were equally amazing! (I’d actually like to be an honorary Conniff sister if that’s okay, Clare?! 😉 Partly because you girls are amazing and partly because your parents are the best too!) I loved every minute with Clare’s bridesmaids and was impressed with what gentlemen Andrew’s groomsmen were – especially when the rain started and we needed to get back to the bus ASAP!)
Speaking of rain – there are very few couples who could truly be so laid back about the weather on their wedding day!! Clare didn’t even reach out to me when thunderstorms appeared in the forecast, and was as cool as can be on her wedding day saying, “we’d figure it out when the time came if need be.” As it was – after our first round of portraits a giant thunderstorm rolled in and sent us ducking for cover under the Wrigley Building arches downtown, but Clare and Andrew were unphased. They cuddled under their umbrella – smiling at one another as they admired the new hardware on their hands. It was the sweetest thing and honestly, such an awesome thing to be a part of – a couple focusing on what is most important – THAT THEY JUST GOT MARRIED!!! They just wanted to celebrate with their loved ones and weren’t going to let a little rain stop them. 🙂 But enough from me!! You should probably go see all the sweetness for yourself!

You guys really are the epitome of kindness and class, and as the speeches on your wedding day touched on – gratitude is such a vital part of a happy and grounded life and you guys have it in heaps.
