Sarah and Aaron booked us so long ago that even though we’d only met in person once between then and the wedding – I felt like we were old friends! We had so much Facebook correspondence (I saw their love for animals, which won me over immediately!), and emails back and forth over the course of years it was easy to see what beautiful people these two are. So when James and I walked in to document their big day on the shores of Lake Monona in Madison last Sunday, it really felt like we were hanging out with our people.
Sarah and Aaron had an immense turnout for their big day, which just went to show how special they are to so many people. Their wonderfully diverse group of family and friends were all so sweet to us, and treated us like they’d known us for years – which didn’t surprise me after getting to know these two! The day was so personal and intimate from the very start. Incredibly talented people close to them sang songs, played instruments, and read poems written specifically for this day during the ceremony – leaving me a sobbing mess, hiding behind my camera pretending the bright sun had my eyes watering! haha
From start to finish the day was so meaningful and not a moment passed without Sarah and Aaron acknowledging how happy and how blessed they felt by all of it.
Sarah & Aaron ~ Thank you so much for welcoming us into your big day with open arms!! You two are some of the kindest souls ever, and your families and friends are equally amazing! We had such a wonderful time documenting your love story and are so blessed to call you our friends! Now you better keep us posted on when Aaron’s band is playing and hopefully we can make it back to Madison for it!! xoxox ~ Christy & James
