This is one of my absolute favorite dessert recipes because it reminds me of fall when I was a kid (and because it is delicious)! As an adult I appreciate it because it makes a reasonable amount for James and I to eat over the course of a few days (or a night… if we’re being honest) and because it is super easy!!
Without further ado – I give you, my mom’s apple crisp recipe!
MOM’S APPLE CRISP
4 cups macintosh apples (or any tart fall apple) peeled & sliced (4 medium apples makes about 4 cups)
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
sprinkle of nutmeg
1/3 cup butter
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Peel and slice apples and put in an 8×8 square pan. Mix all other dry ingredients with a pastry cutter. Sprinkle dry ingredients over the apples. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Enjoy!! It’s that easy! Even Chloe approves… or… wants some really bad… 😉
