This elopement was out of a dream for me!!! I still can’t believe it was real! Stephanie and Chris are the KINDEST, HAPPIEST, SWEETEST people you could ever hope to work with!! They came to Chicago from California to elope because they love this city – and we had just the perfect Saturday in the city for their wedding!! I was beyond honored to be chosen to spend the day with them, along with Ron (who drove us around the city in his amazing car)! We basically felt like we were the best man and maid of honor to these two (because Steph & Chris treated us like gold) and it was one of the most rewarding days of my career!
Stephanie and Chris were just overjoyed to be marrying each other in Chicago and were so excited about all the photos and sharing them with their families when they got home! I felt an extra sense of responsibility to document how this day felt to be a part of since their families and friends weren’t there to feel it themselves. I can tell you it was beautiful, it was joyful, it was romantic, and it was SO much fun!!
I started the day with them at the Hyatt, documenting their preparations and anticipation (just as I would a full wedding day). I loved that I got to be a part of their entire day in order to tell the entire story through photos. They did a First Look at the hotel and then we headed to the Chicago River Walk for their ceremony! Afterwards we drove all over the city – hitting up as many locations as possible, celebrating, popping champagne, and documenting the beautiful love between Steph and Chris.
Stephanie & Chris – I hope these photos bring smiles to your faces always! And I hope that whenever you come back to the Windy City you feel the same joy and happiness you did while you were here for your wedding day. It was an honor to spend so much time with you two and to be a part of your intimate wedding day! I had the best time with you two and am certain you will have a life FULL of so much love and laughter!!! XOXOX!
Chris bought not one, but TWO stunning wedding bands to surprise Stephanie with at the ceremony! She thought she was going to use her engagement ring as her wedding ring for the time being… but she was in for a big surprise!! 🙂
