Oh goodness… where on earth do I start with these two sweethearts?! Catherine and Sam have such a quiet, sweet way about their love. It is so beautiful watching them glance at each other from across a room, squeeze the others’ hand while giving a knowing look, or dance like nobody is watching them. It was just amazing to witness these two together on their wedding day.
As the week of the wedding approached and I saw rain in the forecast over and over again – I couldn’t help but initially feel a little pang of worry for Catherine and Sam since their entire wedding was to be held in Sam’s parent’s & neighbor’s backyards. But after pausing a moment and thinking about the people I know these two to be, I knew they would have the most beautiful wedding day regardless of the forecast. They had plans for an outdoor ceremony and tented reception… classy, but low-key… full of loved ones, dancing, good food, and tasty beer… and it was just that!! Rain or shine. It was perfect.
We had beautiful weather for a portion of the day, and torrential downpours later into the afternoon and evening. While it forced the ceremony to be moved into the reception tent – it did not affect the mood of the day a bit! When I went to check on the ladies up in the master bedroom just before the ceremony – I found Catherine and her girls goofing around and giggling away. Not a care in the world. Catherine was ready to be married to her love – and it was going to be beautiful – whether under open air or under a tent in the rain… it made no difference. And she was right.
Catherine & Sam ~ I know you two are enjoying an amazing honeymoon in Thailand – but may your minds be brought back momentarily to that crazy beautiful, sunny, rainy, joy-filled Saturday when you two said “I Do” to each other forever. James and I cannot thank you enough for treating us like gold, and for welcoming us with open arms into your circle of loved ones for this milestone in your lives. I’ve never seen anyone roll with the circumstances of a wedding day so well before! (I mean, seriously Catherine – you asked for an “after” photo of the mud on your shoes & dress!! haha! Amazing.) And if your wedding day was any inclination – I know you two will weather the storms of life together, just as you did on that day… holding each other up, laughing, loving, and living life to the fullest. Wishing you all the best!!! ~ Christy & James xoxo
And then we did portraits with each of the ladies, and this happened…. and I totally lost it…
I still cannot believe Catherine’s friend did her flowers!! They were stunning! And I just love her custom dress designed and made by Kpoene at Mignonette Bridal!
Congratulations you two!!! Have an amazing rest of your time in Thailand!!! XO!
