I absolutely love seeing where my couples decide to do their engagement sessions! I always leave the decision up to them – and encourage them to choose somewhere that has meaning for them as a couple. More times than not – I end up in new locations I’ve never shot in before and I’m absolutely in love with the results! (Not to mention I have a new location in mind for future sessions!)
Sarah and Seth chose to do their shoot in Evanston because they live there, and since their wedding is taking place up in Wisconsin – they wanted to have their engagement session capture more of their day to day surroundings. They chose the gorgeous Grosse Point Lighthouse because it gave us lots of different options… architecture, greens, trees, beach, and water! I had actually never heard of this location – but when I arrived it was immediately clear to me why they chose it…. it is unbelievably beautiful – all of it!
We had a bit of a chilly/windy day with the threats of oncoming rain – but thankfully it held out and we were able to have an amazing session! Sarah and Seth were anxious coming into it (as most couples are) – but in no time they were at ease and absolutely rocked this shoot! I love these two – loved their session – and seriously can’t wait for their wedding at Boerner Botanical Gardens this November! 🙂
(Oh – and I shot some film for a small part of this session too – so we’ll see how those turned out when I get the film back! Eeps!) 🙂
