James and I had so much fun at this wedding! This was the first time we’ve ever been to Praire du Chien, WI – and it definitely did not disappoint. I heard so much about how beautiful this city on the Mississippi is, but I still couldn’t believe it when I saw it! (I suppose it helped that we had an absolutely gorgeous fall day in mid-October with all the colors changing and bright blue skies, right?! And we had the best cheese curds ever while there as well. True story.)
The layout of the day was totally relaxed because Abby and Nate made sure to make time for portraits of just the two of them by doing a First Look before the ceremony. (And their reactions to seeing each other for the first time were priceless!) Then we wandered around Villa Louis (a beautiful historic home just down the street from their ceremony/reception site) for some more photos. Afterwards we headed over to The Dousman House for family and bridal party photos, and had some down time before the ceremony.
And the ceremony! I love.love.loved this ceremony. It was so unique and every part of it was designed by Abby and Nate. There was a Supreme Court Ruling read, an excerpt from my favorite romantic comedy, Love Actually, and everybody in attendance sang “Build Me Up Buttercup” together!! I know!! Amazing. 🙂
These two are so great together, and always keep each other smiling and laughing. It is so beautiful to see. Abby and Nate – thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day – we had an amazing time and wish you two all the best in life and love! I know you will keep each other smiling for a lifetime. xo! 🙂
I always love comparing mine and James’ perspectives for the First Look! 🙂
James caught these beautiful moments below during our portrait time…
I’m obsessed with Abby’s dress! Just my style…
Another great shot from J on the left…
Their gorgeous ceremony & reception venue!
I know I’ve said it a million times in this post – but I just can’t get over how James has grown as a 2nd shooter this year! He took these two images of Abby & her dad waiting to go down the aisle below – and I just can’t get over how beautiful they are. Love that light!
Oh – and there was a flash mob! Did I forget to mention the flash mob?! And it was started by Abby’s grandma! I LOVED this moment! 🙂
**And today I’m thankful for clients that welcome us into their hometowns/families/wedding days! James and I have gotten to visit so many beautiful places this year, and be a part of so many amazing, moving wedding days. I am so thankful for all my couples!
