I always love it when I get anxious emails from soon-to-be grooms, asking me if I could help them set up the perfect Chicago surprise proposal and document it!
Sameer contacted me and said he was coming up from Houston to surprise his girlfriend (who lives in Chicago), and wanted to propose to her somewhere in the city, but needed some help figuring out a plan since he isn’t from here. After a lot of emails back and forth brainstorming ideas – he decided to propose to her in front of Buckingham Fountain right after the sun had gone down. Of course I was perfectly happy with that decision – because it was light out enough to capture the proposal, and then I loved the look of the photos as the sun continued to go down and the city lit up behind them!
The proposal (obviously) was a success and Rahila was totally surprised, and she looked absolutely gorgeous even though she had no idea what was coming! 🙂

I said my goodbyes to the happy, newly-engaged couple and as I walked away – I saw them calling their families to share the exciting news – and I couldn’t help but snap a few!
