I had the absolute joy of photographing the beautiful McMillin family this past month and it was such a joy! This was the first “all film” family session I’ve done. I’ve offered hybrid for a while and have been shooting film for 17 years! I never dove all into film because, to be honest, I was nervous about having only film and nothing immediate to see to be sure my vision was coming to life with squirmy kids. But this family lifestyle session proved me incredibly wrong. I had nothing to be scared of!
Getting these photo scans back was like Christmas morning and then some for this Chicago film photographer! The grain, the movement, the emotions captured, and the nostalgia of film photography… it all just gets me every time, and something about doing a family session on it feels extra magical.
